According to one view, perception of self are based on socially shared reality ensue from the same processes the perception of others are best thought as accurate of behaviour and experience.
According to others view self perception is fundamentally distorted, self serving , and more consistent by self serving, and more positive than is justified by the perception of others .

Normal human thought is marked not by accuracy but by positive self enhancing illusions "the healthy person is prone to self deceptive s positively"
